It all started with a Canon Rebel T1i. My mom got me the kit complete with a couple zoom lenses for Christmas during middle school. But my passion for running my own business started long before that. I was always the bossy kid. :) But I always loved having leadership roles and creating organizations. I would organize clubs, put on plays with friends, and think up any business I could dream of from jewelry making and lemonade stands to babysitting and dog walking services. I've been an entrepreneur as long as I can remember, and I was always a wildly imaginative dreamer as a kid.
Those tendencies didn't change as I got older, they just expressed themselves in different ways. I was less bossy and more of a leader, team captain of my high school debate team, star witness on my school's mock trial team, writer for the school newspaper, and meanwhile, the "historian" for my friend group. That Canon Rebel lasted me well throughout high school, and I took it everywhere and captured everything! Because as long as I've been an entrepreneur, I've also been a sentimentalist. I would sometimes even cry when good times were passing by because I knew so deeply how fleeting the moments in my life were, and I wanted to do everything in my power to make them stay longer.
Did you know: I rescued my pup, Oslo back in 2016, and we've been best buds ever since.

I went off to college close to home and earned my undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from Clemson University. I took one photography course in college, and I'd tried to start a photography business back in high school, but I hadn't been really serious about it. It wasn't until I did project in one of my classes that included some fashion styled shoots that my fire was sparked again and I really considered pursuing photography as more than just a hobby. As soon as I realized what I wanted, I hit the ground running. I got to work creating a logo and a blog, I made senior portrait posters and hung them all around the bulletin boards at school. I took a few courses from photographers I knew and loved about how to make my dream a reality, and I hustled!
That first year of business in 2015, I got to serve some amazing seniors, families, and engaged couples. After that I knew I wanted to get into the heart of photography with the wedding industry, so I tried to learn all I could shooting at wedding for some of the best photographers I knew. And... I hustled! I expanded my website, continued to post my images, display my work at bridal shows, but most of all, I connected with so many brides who started the #nicholelaurenbride family. To this day, I am forever grateful for the people that make my dream a reality. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to use my entrepreneurial spirit and sentimental disposition to keep your memories in place for forever, and I am thrilled to have you along for the journey, no matter when you started with me: as a senior, engaged couple, married couple, or new family! Thank YOU for trusting me with your best moments. It's an honor and a privilege I don't take lightly.

All of these locations are places I've visited either personally or for photography. And, all are locations I'd love to visit (or visit again) with you!
My amazing assistant, Clare, shoots with me most wedding days. She has a servant's heart and adds a lot of fun to the day!
