Welcome to the blog

There’s something truly magical about a sunrise session. I’ll be the first to admit, mornings are not usually my cup of tea. But for my clients, I would do pretty much anything! Since DC gets crowded with tourists later in the day, sunrise it was! Kiari and Jonathan wanted the classic look for their Washington DC engagement photos. But when the Lincoln Memorial’s front steps were covered with construction, we had to regroup.

We landed on the Jefferson Memorial, and I can honestly say I think it was always meant to be here. This memorial is really underrated in my opinion. It’s breathtakingly gorgeous, and I really had not given it enough credit compared to my favorite, the Lincoln Memorial. But I have to say, the Jefferson Memorial offers an amazing view of the monument and is surrounded by water on its own little island. Truly magical!

As the first light of day bathed the iconic monument, all was still. Really such a cool moment to experience, and I am so honored I got to capture it forever for Kiari and Jonathan. Best Photo Locations in Washington, DC

Here are some of my favorite locations for capturing your engagement photos in Washington DC.

1. Jefferson Memorial

The neoclassical architecture, with its grand columns and domed ceiling, offers a timeless elegance that’s perfect for romantic portraits. The location is also ideal for sunrise sessions, as the light reflects beautifully off the Tidal Basin.

2. Lincoln Memorial

The Lincoln Memorial offers breathtaking views of the National Mall and the Reflecting Pool. The statue of Abraham Lincoln, combined with the vast steps leading up to the memorial, provides a dramatic setting. Sunrise and sunset are particularly magical here, as the light creates a warm glow over the entire area.

3. Georgetown Waterfront

For a mix of urban and natural settings, the Georgetown Waterfront is an excellent choice. With views of the Potomac River, cobblestone streets, and historic buildings, this area offers a variety of backdrops in one location. It’s a versatile spot!

4. Library of Congress

For a touch of elegance, the Library of Congress is an wonderful choice. The intricate interiors, with their gorgeous details and grand staircases, offer a luxurious, more formal backdrop.
