I am so thankful for the places my job takes me! Recently, I had a span of 10 busy days which included 3 weddings and 2 shoots on the SC coast. Charleston and Hilton Head were the two destinations this time, and it was incredible! I met up with Michelle and Steve at the Sea Pines Forest Preserve for their Hilton Head engagement photos. They were looking for a secluded spot with spanish moss, and this truly fit the bill! We incorporated both romantic and playful posing, and these two really showed off! This makes me even more excited for their wedding day coming up this summer at Beach House Hilton Head!

Tips for Destination Engagement Photos

Thinking about an engagement session in Hilton Head or another coastal area in South Carolina? Here are my best tips for you to make it amazing!

1. Make sure you check the weather. If you are thinking about a location further from you, it’s important to keep a close eye on the weather app. Especially in South Carolina, the weather can change on a dime. What looks like rain might turn out sunny and 70. Always have a Plan B!
2. Bring multiple outfits! I always recommend one dressier outfit to start and one more casual personality outfit to change into. This way you can make the most of your time in a new place!
3. Remember to think through special events and crowd levels. This engagement session was on St. Paddy’s weekend, so we knew we wanted a more intimate location. Try to think through photo locations based on the crowd level you expect.
