Bridal portraits are one of those things my brides often know they want but aren’t always sure how to plan. When should they happen? What should I bring? How long does it take? Brittany’s bridal portraits at the Bleckley Inn are a perfect example of how smooth, and genuinely enjoyable, a bridal session can be when it’s planned intentionally.
Her session felt calm, celebratory, and unhurried. Just a quiet moment to step into being a bride before the wedding day arrives.

Located in downtown Anderson, the Bleckley Inn has a charm that feels timeless without being formal. It’s refined but welcoming. The kind of place where bridal portraits feel elevated without feeling stiff or overly posed.
What makes it especially great for bridals:
For Brittany, the Inn provided everything we needed in one location. No shuffling between spots. No rushing. Just space to move, breathe, and let the portraits unfold naturally.

One of the most common questions I get is “How far in advance should I do my bridals?”
The sweet spot is typically 2-3 months before your wedding.
That timeline allows:
Brittany’s session fit perfectly within that window. Her dress was ready, her look was finalized, and that made the entire experience calm and so enjoyable.

Preparing for bridals doesn’t have to be complicated, but being organized makes a huge difference. Here’s what I recommend bringing along to your session:
Brittany came prepared with everything she needed, and her mom was the sweetest to help her throughout the session. Another thing I highly recommend is bringing your mom, sister or friend to help carry the dress and bouquet from place to place and be an extra set of hands for touchups. Of course, I will be there to fluff your dress and make you look your absolute best throughout our time together!

Another thing brides often worry about is how long bridal portraits take and what the flow looks like.
Most bridal sessions last about 30-60 minutes.
I typically work very fast and efficiently. And since it’s just you in the portraits, I find we can really get a lot of variety accomplished no matter how much time you have dedicated to your bridal portraits. Here’s how that time usually breaks down:
At the Bleckley Inn, everything was close and cohesive, which made transitions seamless. Brittany didn’t feel like she was being “moved around” constantly. She could stay present, and that shows in her photos.

Bridal portraits give you something rare: space.
Space to wear your dress without a timeline.
To feel confident before the wedding day.
To see yourself as a bride before everything moves fast.
They also allow you to:
Brittany’s bridal portraits were all about confidence and calm. And that’s exactly what bridal sessions are meant to provide. She and her mom brought me to tears at the end of the session sharing how they were so glad we found each other. And I wholeheartedly agree. This bride has a super special place in my heart.

If you’re planning your own bridal portraits and are looking for a location that feels refined, intimate, and stress-free, the Bleckley Inn is a beautiful option. And if you’re unsure how to plan your bridals, I’m always happy to walk you through it.
