There are many factors that will affect how you price your services. It’s important not only to use the profitable pricing formula that we will cover but to also look at the totality of circumstances and factors when making this decision. Consider things like:

Education
Experience
Expertise
Value of services offered
Demand
Time of year
Client Experience
Geographic location
Your competition

Steps of the Profitable Pricing Formula

In order to fully complete the profitable pricing formula, you’ll need to consider a few different numbers in your business that you should be able to track if you haven’t already. You’ll also need to spend some time dreaming about your business and what you’d ideally wish for your life to look like. Then, make sure to center your pricing strategy around that. Some numbers you’ll need include:

Total Projected Expenses (Fixed and Variable)
Target Yearly Profit
Income Tax Rate
Desired Hours Worked

The goal is to get to a place where you are not resenting your clients and respecting yourself to set boundaries for what your time is worth. This helps protect against burnout, attract the right clients, and be financially stable as a business.
